Teen Toxing: teenage girls copying celebrity heroes flock to get Botox

And one by one, the young partygoers queue up to let her jab them in the face with a hypodermic needle and inject a paralysing bacteria that can cause double vision, muscle atrophy and permanent facial weakness. The fresh-faced girls, some as young as 15, are having Botox injections.
“Teen toxing” is the latest craze among Britain’s image-conscious and celebrity-obsessed teenagers. A Daily Mirror investigation has revealed teens are now driving a 15% rise in demand for Botox jabs in an £18million-a-year market.
Following the lead of their favourite TV and pop stars, youngsters are shelling out up to £100 a time for jabs in the mistaken belief it will “freeze” their looks and stop them ageing.
But experts say they are risking long-term damage and could even age more quickly by starting young.
Plastic surgeon Dr Shoib Allan Myint said: “This trend of ‘teen toxing’ has a potential for unnecessary complications from untrained injectors who are not physicians.
“Most teens are wrinkle-free and Botox does not prevent natural ageing. Unless there is a compelling need, it should not be administered under the age of 18.”
We revealed this week how TOWIE star Harry Derbidge, 17, is having Botox jabs before appearing in panto.
And X Factor bosses were criticised for allowing finalist Marcus Collins, 23, to have jabs in his forehead before performances.
They are just the latest in a catalogue of teen idols who have admitted having the cosmetic injections.
Last year Britain’s most famous glamour girl, Katie Price, 32, controversially claimed: “Looking after my skin is not my strong point but the two things that do make my skin better are sunbeds and Botox.
“I get my forehead and around my eyes botoxed every six months and I love it. You can’t beat it.
